GOT QUESTIONS?
What is Aatma At Widowmaker?
This is our love letter to Indian cuisine, a curry house built with deep respect for the kitchens, street corners, and elders who shaped it. We cook with the weight of that history, then nudge it forward. Set inside Widowmaker Brewing’s Brighton taproom, Aatma brings Indian street-corner soul and regional tradition into conversation with New England ingredients and a little punk-rock attitude. Spirit first, swagger second.

NOTE: ALL OF THE MEAT WE SERVE IS HALAL

Do I need a reservation?
No reservations. Just come as you are. Order at the bar, grab a beer, grab a plate, and sit wherever feels right. First come, first served, the energy of a roadside stall, the intention of a serious kitchen.

Where exactly are you located?
We’re inside Widowmaker Brewing at:
190 N Beacon St, Brighton, MA
One door, two worlds: craft beer pouring out front, Indian flavor and fire coming out of the kitchen.

How do I join the waitlist?
We operate with a Host-Managed Digital Waitlist. When you arrive at Widowmaker, please head directly to the Aatma host station located at the entrance. A member of our team will check you in and provide an estimated wait time.
Can I check the waitlist before I arrive?
Yes! We believe in total transparency. You can view our live waitlist status at any time here:
Waitlist.me/n/aatmaatwidowmaker Please note: While you can view the list online, you must check in with our host in person to officially join the queue.
What should I do while I wait?
Once you’re in our system, you’re free to relax! We encourage you to grab a beer at the Widowmaker taproom and enjoy the atmosphere. We will send you a text message the moment your turn to order is approaching.
How much time do I have to claim my spot?
To respect the time of the hundreds of guests waiting behind you, we have a 5-minute claim window. Once you receive your "Ready" text, please head to the counter within 5 minutes. If you miss this window, we will move to the next guest in line to keep things flowing.
What is the "Social Contract"?
We want every guest to enjoy their experience without feeling rushed. However, we also have hundreds of people waiting for that next table. We ask our community to honor a "Social Contract": enjoy your meal, soak in the spices, and once you’ve finished, consider heading back to the main bar so the next group can find their seat.
Why do wait times sometimes fluctuate?
Our estimates are based on current flow, but because we respect the dining experience of those currently seated, times can shift. We will never "kick a party out," but we rely on our guests' mutual respect for those still waiting in line.
Where can I get real-time updates?
Follow us on Instagram Stories @ AatmaAtWidowmaker We use that platform to post live updates on wait times, sold-out items, and behind-the-scenes looks at the kitchen in real-time.
Why don’t you just "speed up" the kitchen?
At Aatma, we will never compromise food quality for the sake of the line.
Our food comes out when it’s ready and often times that is quick. Getting tables to “turn” is different.
We still grind our own spices by hand, slow-cook our sauces for hours, and hand-smash every burger to order. Excellence takes time, and we thank you for your patience while we craft your meal.
How does ordering work?
Order at the counter, grab a number, find a seat.
We’ll run your food out fresh off the line. It’s fast-casual in flow, with the care and technique of a fine-dining kitchen behind each plate.

Do you offer takeout or delivery?
Not at this time. We are a very high volume kitchen and we want to make sure the guests dining with us have the experience we intended.

Can I bring my kids?
Yes. Aatma At Widowmaker is built to feel like a gathering, families, friends, solo diners, everyone. This isn’t a club; it’s a table.

Who’s the chef?
Aatma is led by Chef Keith Sarasin, chef, cookbook author, and student of Indian cuisine for over a decade. His work is shaped by mentors and researchers across India, grounded in respect for tradition and a commitment to contribute something meaningful back to the cuisine.

Do you serve beer or beverages?
Widowmaker handles the beer, from fresh releases to taproom favorites.
We bring the curry and a few non-alcoholic heroes of our own, including our iconic mango lassi and masala chai. The pairings aren’t an afterthought; they’re part of the experience.

Is your food spicy?
Some dishes are gentle. Some carry a slow burn. A few bring the heat. We build flavor first, then fire. If you’re unsure, ask, we’ll guide you to the right spice level for your comfort (or your courage).

Do you have halal, vegan, vegetarian, or gluten-free options?
Yes. All of our meat is halal. Indian cuisine is rich with veg-forward and naturally gluten-free traditions, and our menu reflects that. We offer vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, and nut-free options, clearly labeled so you can order with confidence.

Why is the menu so different from other “Indian restaurants”?
Because we’re not here to just repeat your favorite takeout order. We honor the classics, but we also draw from regional histories, personal memory, and research, then filter it all through New England ingredients and our own lived experience. We’re not copying nostalgia; we’re adding another verse to a very old song.

Can I host a private event here?
Yes, with enough notice.
The brewery + curry house combo makes for a powerful setting, from casual hangs to more intentional tastings and celebrations. Reach out and we’ll see what we can build together.

Is the menu the same every day?
Our core dishes stay so you can find your favorites again and again. Seasonal specials and limited runs rotate based on what New England gives us and which region or idea we’re exploring at the moment.

Do you have merch?
We do. You’ll find signed copies of Chef Keith’s Indian cookbook, The Soul of Spice, along with select Aatma and Widowmaker merch. It’s one more way to bring a little of this story home.
